Graduation season
May is the busiest month here by some distance. Graduation boxes tend to be larger and to go out to a house full of visiting family rather than to the graduate — order early, because the first two weekends of May book out first.
Faculty and department gifting
End-of-semester and end-of-year boxes for departments and offices are a steady order here. Earl Grey and coffee are the two that reliably disappear from a shared table.
Ordering from out of town
A lot of Chapel Hill orders are placed by someone who is not in Chapel Hill — a parent sending a graduation box, a department thanking someone who has moved on. Everything happens online: choose the date, enter the Chapel Hill address at checkout, and add a note, which is packed with the box with the price left out.
Keeping a box through a graduation weekend
Sealed at room temperature, macarons are at their best for about three days, and they keep up to five in the fridge — long enough to see a box through a weekend of visitors. If the house will be empty on the day itself, have it delivered the day before; nothing is lost by it.
